1.st Sarah Jane a Slave says I thought the child was well last night, woke up in the night and found it alive, woke up this morning and told Aunt Sarah I thought it was dead. Child was lying on its side next to me and the other child, when I woke the bigger child had its leg lying across the body of the dead Child--it never cried dyrin gthe night I thought it was well all day yesterday--there was a Boy here last night--was doing nothing slept with Uncle Peter,--the child's face was not covered up with the clothes.... Norman Sworn Says, between 6 & 7 OClock this morning Sarah brought in the child in her arms to the House to me and asked me if the child was dead--I examined the child no pulsation at the wrist or heart, body was limber, don't think it was dead above two hours, the body was limber and warm--did not know that the child had been sick saw it yesterday morning it appeared as well as usual, think its death was occasioned by suffocation, its appearance so indicated--blood settled in face--do not think it was occasoined by violence.
