J. S. Sellers being sworn says . . . I heard somebody taking on over here at Mr. Thurmane like they were in disrsess; I come on over here I overtook Mr. Joe Thurman before searching his home; we come on up here; found Mr Archive Oliver being here dead; I did not examine the body any except to slaighen out his legs his hairdo & his head. The ground was flowing with blood and there was a hole in his right cheek; Mr. Thurman told me that his son had killed Archive Oliver with a gin; Mr.. Thurman seemed to be very badly upset
Miss Annie Thurman being sworn said; yesterday evening Archie Oliver walked up in over yard. I says to Archive is that Gun loaded. He said no & took the shell out when shot shot crow down youder. Willis says Archie are you I sure you taken it out he says yes I knowd I did: He haved me the crowd said he was going to hang them in the corn field. Willis taken the gun to put it up as he turned the fun fired and Archive Oliver fell; I felt o his face and found he was dead . . . .
