Jim Mckie ... I never told Mr A about seeing what I thought was a sucker & I did not tell John Smith for certain that it was a sucker. As soon as Mr A told us I come to the clusion[?] that there must have been a man there. I never told it then. Bill Low sworn says, I told squire Green to carry a pistol when we were walking on the road. I heard that he had a fuss with John Stuart. I heard that John said he was going to whip him for telling about his daughter & he didn't say he was carrying his pistol for any certain person & squire carres a pistol nearly all the time, squire is a bigity negro, He is a regular gambler. C.[?] Adkinson Sworn says: ... some one stepp out by side of road near a pine I was com up road beyond Hill I say to wife I see some one coming, they walked 25 or 30 yds ahead of us when we were up top of Hill, they face me as I approach then I got in 6 or 8 ft gun fire wife fell over in front of cart ... I have had trouble with Squire Greene some years ago, I heard he had threaten me. I ask him about it & he denies it & I caught him with his bros[?] wife & I have never seen any vengeance in him & He wouldn't work for me for 2 or 3 years after that

I heard a Gunshot between 8-9 oclock in the direction she was Kill & I was there about a few minutes afterward Jim Mckie came, He Could have gotten there from the place of the Crime by riding fast. He rode up in the yard and asked for his mail

Jim Mckie ... It was after dark when I got to the G house I thin I stayed there about 1 1/2 hrs & Then I went to Mr A. I didn't hear no gun shoot after I went in the house & I stayed in the house about 1 hour. I never told Dan & Tom about the Ghost I Saw

Jim Mckie recalled Tuesday night when I come by the pine Luther Sullivan was at the pine & hailed him, asked me if the road cant had gone up the road I told him not as I know of. He didn't say nothing. I believe he don't the Shooting that was the Sucker I saw.

Luther Sullivan recalled Jim Mckie said a week or so go he was going to try to get him out of the way (That is Mr. A). Then he could rent him a big farm, he was going to get him 2 houses at his home

G Said he was going to Kill him for talking about a woman, he said him and Squire agree to get him if they ever got an chance at him, they agree to go far enough down the road to Keep suspicion down, Squire was to went on the Moure[?] road & Andrew the mt[?] rd, he said Jim I done the Shooting, nobody present but me and him, he said I didn't intend to kill the lady but I intended to shoot Mr A head[?] off, he said people didn't believe he done it for they hadn't Searched his house

Andrew Lee recalled: I heard Jim testimony He has told a liar. I never had such a conversation in my life. If you all allows me I don't know what I would do with him I heard J McKie say anything about it. I shall not treat him that way I don't know nothing about it
