F. P. Vernon sworn, says: A few minutes after eight o'clock last night, April 3d 1878 I was passing through the yard and saw a light in the house where Medora Williams stays. I pushed the door open and looked to see if her father or brother had come in. I found her lying with her face in the fire. She was dead and the fire was all over her. There was no one in the house with her.... She has for several years been subject to fits. When they would come on she would fall and become perfectly helpless for a while. Some of the family would come out nearly every night to see if she were safe. I think it was about seven o'clock last night when she came out to her house. About an hour later I found her dead. I called for help and we pulled her out of the fire. F. P. Vernon
