The evidence of R.W. Carter, M.D. given before the jury of inquest held over the body of Alexander Rogers this 15th July 1818, the deponent attended the deceased as his physician, knew him to be much deranged in the course of the last evening from the effects of the fever with which he had been for some days affected, left him about 11 o'clock, was sent for this morning & found the deceased with several wounds across his throat which he believes the deceased had inflicted on himself and on the influence of mania produced by the disease with which he had been afflicted.
